Level Two (2) Painter Program

Painting is both a science and an art. At Painter Decorator Academy you will learn both the science and art of painting. The program teaches how to use safe work practices, use basic math requirements for project confidence, learn how to fix and repair substrates so that you can enjoy mastering the art of rolling and cutting, and much more. Several hands on lab projects will help you master the art and science of cutting and rolling.

Level Three (3) Painter Program

Painters are craftspeople who visualize, imagine and construct painting projects. They are educators and perpetual students who share knowledge, skills and design interpretations. Enjoy the art of spraying in this program!

Level Four (4) Painter Program  

As you perform painting services on various substrates, you will need to understand the basics of each substrate and experience in-depth knowledge including colour theory and decorative finishing.

Level 4 – Professional Painter Certified Journeyman 

  • Module A – Use Safe Work Practices
  • Module B – Review Tools and Equipment with Power and Hoisting/Lifting Equipment including Including Erecting Scaffolds
  • Module C – Organize Work Competency (Interpret Drawings and Specifications; Plan a Project)
  • Module D – Prepare Surfaces Competency (Drywall, Plaster, Wood, Concrete, Masonry, Metal, Hydro Cleaning including Abrasive Blasting)
  • Module E – *Apply Paint and Coatings Competency (Industrial Coating, Air/Airless/Speciality/Thermal Spray, etc.) and Correct Paint & Caulking/Coatings Failures
  • Module F – Apply Wall Covering Procedures Competency
  • Module G – *Apply Wood/Decorative/Graphics Finishes Competency
